Did you know that Barbadians were among the first to produce rum? Or that the grapefruit was bred in one of the island's gullies? Russell Streeter does. He also knows where the most tranquil beaches are, where the turtles swim and nest, and where you can savour the best fried fish.
So instead of trawling through the Internet, this insightful book will help you to navigate the best that Barbados has to offer.
A great resource for anyone traveling to Barbados. I purchased it in preparation for my 4th trip there and found it to contain lots of great nuggets of information. Great to have the inside track from someone who lived there!

Like most people I was expecting "more" initially. It's a very small paperback. and arguably not "worth" the price. But actually I think it IS worth the price as it's written with no advertorial bias and simply provides a rational and ordered list of things to do including reviews of the main sights/tourist attractions and the many different beaches. As a first timer to Barbados I found it very useful for helping plan what to do during our stay. One thing it's missing is a decent map, but there are plenty of these available on arrival, in bars/restaurants, or as App downloads on your phone. And there's no restaurant review but TripAdvisor covers this just fine. As a first timer to Barbados I found it very useful for helping plan what to do during our stay.
